Interpreting the Report

As you reflect on the Teacher/Student Equity report for your district, you might want to ask yourself these questions:

  • What is the gap between the percentages of the two student groups paired with highly effective teachers?
  • What policies or strategies (recruitment, retention, development, staffing, etc.) might be considered to improve access to highly effective teachers for different student groups?
  • Which districts/schools are pairing certain student groups with effective teachers more often? Less often?
  • How do the effectiveness gaps in your school compare to the district or the state?
  • How do gaps compare among schools with similar populations?

As you reflect on the Teacher/Student Equity report for your school, you might want to ask yourself these questions:

  • What is the gap between the percentages of student groups paired with highly effective teachers?
  • What subjects or grade levels might be prioritized and what supports could be implemented to address gaps in access to effective teaching?
  • How do you interpret the gap? If you have a concern with the gap, what changes should you consider?
