Student Projection
The Student Projection Report provides a reliable indicator of a student's likelihood of reaching future assessment milestones. The report typically displays the selected student's probability of reaching the minimum score for each of the state's performance levels.
For ACT, the reports display the student's probability of reaching meaningful benchmark scores for each subject. For AP exams, the reports display the student's probability of scoring at least a 2, 3, or 4.
When used alongside other information, the projection data offers useful indicators for:
- Placing students into courses
- Placing students with teachers
- Identifying students who need sustained interventions
- Identifying students who would benefit from enrichment opportunities
- Planning for differentiated instruction in the classroom
- Planning for students' college readiness
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there was no testing in the spring of 2020, so the projection reports changed as follows:
- All projections assume the 2019 average schooling experience.
- Projections to grade-level assessments are made to one grade out.
Projections for grade 4 math and ELA use two predictors rather than three.
