Understanding the Report

This report displays the most recent year's growth measures and colors from each school's value-added reports for the selected subject group. To view the report for a different subject group, select from the list under the Subject Groups tab.

Growth measures for assessments analyzed with the gain model are provided in state NCEs. Growth measures for other assessments are provided in scale score points.

A legend below the report provides guidance for interpreting the colors.

Level 5

At least 2 standard errors above

Significant evidence that students exceeded expected growth

Level 4

Between 1 and 2 standard errors above

Moderate evidence that students exceeded expected growth

Level 3

Between 1 standard error above and 1 standard error below

Evidence that students met expected growth

Level 2

Between 1 and 2 standard errors below

Moderate evidence that students did not meet expected growth.

Level 1

More than 2 standard errors below

Significant evidence that students did not meet expected growth

When a growth index falls exactly on the boundary between two colors, the higher effectiveness level is assigned.
